Cleaning best practiceA wet-cleaned carpet should be dry within a few hours; anything still damp after a day risks odour and microbial growth in the backing.
Cleaning a carpet is half the job. Getting the moisture back out of it is the half that decides whether the room smells fresh on day two.
How it is done
- Extract thoroughly rather than relying on evaporation.
- Move air across the surface with fans, not just through the room.
- Run the air conditioning: it dehumidifies as it cools.
- Keep foot traffic off until the pile is dry to the touch.
Why it matters
Coastal humidity in Dubai and Sharjah slows drying considerably. A method that dries in three hours inland can take twice as long in a ground-floor villa near the water.
Asked about this
For maintenance cleans, often yes. For heavily soiled carpet, extraction still removes more, and the answer is to manage drying properly.
Moisture left in the backing or underlay. It is a drying failure, not a cleaning failure, and it is preventable.
