Water Tanks, Sediment and Why Storage Matters Here

Municipal water in the UAE is largely desalinated and low in mineral hardness at source. What happens between the network and your tap is where the issues arise.

What matters, and why.

Why storage is the variable

Water sits in a tank in high ambient heat. Sediment settles, and a poorly sealed lid admits dust and insects. That is the usual cause of a taste or smell complaint.

What the job involves

Drained, sediment removed, walls and floor scrubbed, then disinfected and rinsed to a safe residual, with the lid and inlet checked.

Evidence

Before and after photographs of the internal condition, dated, and a note on the seals. Without that you have no way of knowing what was done.

Frequency

Commonly every six to twelve months. Roof tanks in direct sun need it more often than shaded or basement installations.

If this is something you would rather hand over, our marble and hard surface care is scoped at an inspection and confirmed in writing before any work begins. We will also tell you when a job does not need us.

Questions

Answered plainly.

At source it is low in mineral hardness. Scaling in homes traces to heater temperature, pipework and tank condition.

No. Supply is off for a few hours and we tell you the window in advance.

Visual inspection and photographs are standard. Microbiological testing goes to an accredited lab and is arranged separately.
