The short answer
UAE tap water is hard, so shower glass scales quickly; the fix is a mild acidic descaler, then a squeegee habit or a protective coating.
What looks like permanently cloudy glass is usually a mineral film. Left long enough it etches into the surface, at which point cleaning no longer helps.
How it is done
- Treat it early with a scale remover made for glass, not with abrasive pads.
- Rinse and dry the panel fully after the treatment.
- A squeegee after each shower does more than any monthly deep clean.
- A hydrophobic coating buys months of easier maintenance.
Why it matters
Desalinated and blended supply in much of the UAE is mineral-rich, so scale returns faster here than the product instructions assume. Frequency matters more than strength.

Prolonged scale can etch the glass surface. At that stage it can sometimes be improved by professional polishing, but replacement may be the honest answer.
A properly applied coating keeps water beading and makes scale much easier to remove. It reduces work rather than eliminating it, and it needs renewing.
