Indoor Air Quality

HEPA Collection and Why It Decides the Result

The difference between duct cleaning that works and duct cleaning that redistributes is the collection unit, not the brush.

What matters, and why.

What HEPA means

A HEPA filter captures the overwhelming majority of particles at the size that penetrates deepest into the lungs. In duct work its job is to hold what the brushing releases.

Negative pressure

The unit puts the duct under suction while agitation happens, so debris travels into the collector rather than into your rooms. Without it, cleaning moves the problem.

How to tell

Ask what the collection unit is and ask to see it. A contractor arriving with brushes and a domestic vacuum is not equipped to do this properly.

Filters in your own system

Separately, the filters in your AC do real work between services. Changing them on schedule does more for daily air quality than any single deep clean.

If this is something you would rather hand over, our AC duct cleaning and air quality is scoped at an inspection and confirmed in writing before any work begins. We will also tell you when a job does not need us.

Questions

Answered plainly.

No. Fogging a dirty duct perfumes it. It has a role as a finishing step after mechanical cleaning.

On dust settling rates and on odour, usually. Where the real issue is ventilation rather than ducting, the difference is smaller and we say so first.

Camera footage from inside the run, not photographs of a grille. Any contractor properly equipped can provide it.
