Apps are good for a fast hourly booking; a local company with its own crews is better for scoped work, multiple trades and anything with a deadline.
This is not a question with one answer. An app is genuinely convenient for two hours of general help on a Tuesday. It is the wrong tool for a villa handover with a deadline and four trades involved.
The difference is what happens when something goes wrong, and who is accountable when it does.
What to check
- Apps: quick booking, hourly work, low commitment, variable staff
- Local companies: scoped work, named supervisor, continuity, documentation
- Multi-trade work is where app models struggle most
- Deadlines and handovers need someone accountable for the whole scope
- Recurring household help sits comfortably in either model
Asked about this
Many households do: an app for ad-hoc hours, a company for the deep and technical work.
Because a cleaner who knows your property does a better job in less time, and you stop re-explaining.
Check the terms carefully in both models. With us, the people in your property are our employees and covered as such.
