Setting a cleaning frequency that holds

The short answer

Match frequency to how a surface soils: daily touchpoints, weekly floors and bathrooms, quarterly soft furnishings, annual deep work on ducts and tanks.

A schedule fails when everything is treated as equally urgent. Some things soil hourly and some annually, and a plan should say which is which.

How it is done

  • Daily: hand-contact points, kitchen surfaces, sanitary ware.
  • Weekly: floors, glass, bathrooms in full.
  • Quarterly: upholstery, curtains, mattresses, balcony and facade glass.
  • Annually or longer: ducts, tanks, grout sealing, marble maintenance.

Why it matters

Written frequencies make a service auditable. Both sides can see what was agreed, which removes most of the friction from a maintenance relationship.
