Fragrance, Residue and What Clean Should Smell Like

A strong scent after cleaning usually means something has been added, not that something has been removed.

What matters, and why.

Fragrance as a mask

Heavy perfume in a cleaning product covers odour rather than eliminating its source. A properly cleaned room smells of very little.

Residue

Fragrance carriers leave a film. On a floor it attracts soil faster; on upholstery it sits against skin.

Sensitivity

Synthetic fragrance is a common trigger for headaches and respiratory irritation, and it is entirely avoidable.

Our default

Low-residue, minimally fragranced products throughout. If a room smells strongly after we leave, something has gone wrong.

If this is something you would rather hand over, our marble and hard surface care is scoped at an inspection and confirmed in writing before any work begins. We will also tell you when a job does not need us.

Questions

Answered plainly.

No. Fragrance contributes nothing to cleaning performance.

Natural is not automatically safe. Several are toxic to cats and some are respiratory irritants.

Yes, if you prefer. Tell us and we will work with what you have, or explain where something is unsuitable for the surface.
