Cloths, Colour Coding and Cross-Contamination

The most common way a professional clean spreads soil rather than removing it is a cloth used in the wrong room.

What matters, and why.

Colour coding

Separate colours for washrooms, kitchens, general surfaces and glass. It is a simple system and it is the difference between cleaning and redistributing.

One cloth, one area

A cloth that has been in a bathroom does not go near a kitchen worktop. Crews carry enough that they never have to.

Laundering

Microfibre washed hot, without fabric softener — softener coats the fibres and destroys the electrostatic effect that makes them work.

At home

The same principle applies. Kitchen sponges carry the highest bacterial load in most homes; replace or hot-wash them frequently.

If this is something you would rather hand over, our marble and hard surface care is scoped at an inspection and confirmed in writing before any work begins. We will also tell you when a job does not need us.
