Timber, Water and the Mistake That Cannot Be Undone

Water at a timber joint is permanent damage. This is the single most common irreversible cleaning error in UAE homes.

What matters, and why.

Damp, never wet

A barely damp flat mop, and never a bucket. Water at a laminate or engineered joint swells the core and there is no way back from it.

Steam is worse

A steam mop forces moisture into the joint under pressure. It is the fastest way to ruin an engineered floor.

Outdoor teak

Different rules. Teak weathers to grey naturally and that is not damage. Cleaning and oiling is a choice about appearance, not maintenance.

Humidity

Indoor timber in a UAE villa lives in a very dry environment for most of the year. Movement and small gaps are normal, not a defect.

If this is something you would rather hand over, our marble and hard surface care is scoped at an inspection and confirmed in writing before any work begins. We will also tell you when a job does not need us.

Questions

Answered plainly.

A product made for the finish, applied to the cloth rather than the floor. Never a general-purpose floor cleaner.

Localised boards can sometimes be replaced. Swelling across a floor generally cannot be reversed.

Annually for most homes, with the right dry method in between doing most of the work.
